Hollywood Street King: a celebrity news platform, built and monetized for Jacky Jasper
We came up with the concept for Jacky Jasper’s celebrity news site, built the platform and ran its technology and advertising revenue from 2008 to 2016. At its peak it drew 50 million views a month across the site, social and video, and it generated millions of dollars in revenue.

The idea
A news site in an artist’s voice
In 2008 Jacky Jasper was a rapper. We came up with the concept of a celebrity news site written in his voice, and launched it as Diary of a Hollywood Street King.
From 2008 we monetized it with advertising, early in the social era, and kept the platform fast and online as its audience grew across the site, social and video.
Hollywood Street King is Jacky Jasper’s site, and he owns it. Our role was the concept, the technology and the revenue, from 2008 to 2016.

What it taught us
Publishing that pays for itself
Eight years of running a high-traffic site on advertising taught us how to keep a platform fast under load and keep the revenue flowing. We bring the same discipline to the web platforms and AI systems we build today.
